Recently my tumblr has been full of lolita outfits and accessory pictures which are cute and creepy at the same time and because Halloween was like months ago I think that this style might have come to stay. The style combines the cute Angelic Pretty aspect of lolita with creepy accessories and motives. This style can also be seen in normal street wear and fairy-kei styles. The colour palette is usually bitter-sweeth: black and white combined with pastel colours. I have no idea if this style has a name, but I have seen it been called Kyary inspired, after this Japanese singer:

I think that this new style has born as a counter power to OTT lolita where you try to be as sweet as you can, while this pastel goth style introduces a little more toned down version with a scary twist to it. I like the idea of combining two very different genres: the contrast of horror and cute gives this style a fun edge.

Desucon Frostbite day 2

This was my outfit for the second say:

We had a little lolita meetup and 11 people showed up! Mimi suggested that we could go to Cafe Kariranta and it was the perfect choice: the cafe had a lovely atmosphere, the prices were cheap and the food looked delicious. If you go to Lahti I recommend that you visit this cafe, it's near the Sibelius talo :D

I didn't buy anything else from Desucon Frostbite than this Koneko-chan bookmark from Dashiana. She is a character of hers, who dresses up in Angelic Pretty. I really wanted a Cherry Berry Bunny themed one, but they were all sold out, so I got this Chess Chocolate (I will buy CBB next time), which is way cool too! Desucon Frostbite day 1

Minun ei pitänyt mennä Desucon Frostbiteen koska etelään matkustaminen on kallista, mutta kuulin viime viikonloppuna että Tiina on menossa, joten päätin työntyä samaan autokyytiin (autolla on puolet halvempaa matkustaa kuin junalla, mikä on vähän harmi koska juna olisi ekologisempi). Koska olimme liikkeellä aika viime tipassa, kaikki hostellit olivat jo ihan täynnä joten työnnyimme Minjan luokse Hyvinkäälle.

Lauantai aamuna meillä oli todella hidas startti, joten saavuimme Frostbiteen vasta puoliltapäivin. Mimi oli kutsunut minut ja Minjan teelle kotiinsa yhdeksi, joten emme ehtineet olemaan conialueella kuin jotain 30 min, ennenkuin lähdimme vaeltamaan lumituiskussa Lahden keskustaan. Teelle seuraamme minun, Minjan, Mimin ja Mimin poikaystävän Anssin lisäksi liittyivät Laura, Ilona, Katja sekä Katjan pikkusisko Elina. Pääsimme maistelemaan monia eri teitä Mimin suuresta valikoimasta ja erityisesti itse pidin lolita nimisestä teestä.

Last weekend I went to Lahti to Desucon Frostbite and I was staying at Minja's place. On Saturday Mimi invited me and Minja to have tea at her place (she and her boyfriend Anssi lives in Lahti) so we skipped some of the con and went to see her. Ilona, Laura, Katja and Katja's little sister Elina joined us too.

What has been up, new hair and outfit for the Kamy camp

Happy New Year to all! Me and Heikki spent the New Year's eve in Kuopio. We had a small get-together at our place before hitting the clubs with our friends. The evening was quite fun (though one of my friends was thrown to the jail by the police and he couldn't remember why, but probably because he was too drunk :DD)!

This week we were working at the farm again and doing nothing special. Last Friday we went to Suonenjoki to see my old friends. We had a lot of fun and a lot of catching up to do. It's always so nostalgic to see them!

Yesterday I went to Kamy camp with Tiina. It was kind-of-a allnighter and we were watching anime, playing Pokemon tcg, mahjong and other games. The event will last until 23:00 today, but I was so tired because of the work week and the Suonenjoki trip so I came home early today. It was fun to see Tiina and we decided that we are going to go to Desucon Frostbite!

And then about the new hair (my fb friends might know about this already). So I was watching Project Runway season 9 and there was this contestent called Anya with awesome looking side shave. I have been thinking about a stubble (sänki) for sometime now and it looked so great on her so I decided that I want one for myself. Last Friday Heikki shaved my head, and here is the result:

:-D It's not lolita but I like it and it looks even better irl! I love the rock feel that it has and how it contrasts with the long extensions I have going on. It's also easy to hide with my own hair and the extensions so I can still do more traditional lolita dues. I think that I have to buy blonding cream because the stubble is now light brown (my own hair colour) and I think that it would look awesome if it was blond.

I went shopping two days ago, because it was after Christmas sales! This is what I found:

A dress (it's not as dark in IRL as it seems in the picture) from H&M, moustache T-shirt from Gina Tricot, Denim shorts with polkadots from H&M and tights and one pair of leggings (my first pair, I have never owned leggings!) from H&M and Gina Tricot.

I also bought owl earrings, but they were not on sale.

What has been up & my Christmas presents

How was your Christmas? Mine was quite good actually, because we (me and my family) came along much better then we normally do (we are quite loud and we speak our minds = lots of shouting). Me and Heikki stayed mostly at my place but on the 24th we visited Heikki's parents. We spend our xmas eating well and hanging together with my sister, brother and his gf, playing lot of Trivial Pursuit, Dancestar (on PS 3) and watching movies. Yesterday we were supposed to go to Heikki's place but we got fed up on other people and came back to Kuopio to get some peace and freetime (my mom always insists that everyone takes apart to do the chores (which is fair but after sometime it gets irritating when you have to be doing something all of the time)).

On the 26th we had our traditional x-mas party with my friends at Jousia's place, but I don't have any pictures yet, because I didn't remember to take any (but I might post some after I recieve them from Jousia). We ate well and played lots of boardgames such as Disney Trivia and Munchkin.

Here is the only picture I took this Christmas. There has been squirrels living in my parents bird feeder and this is the second one (the first one was killed by our cat last week :<). My sister and my brothers girlfriend are calling it the squirrelhouse (oravatalo):

It was a windy day, so his house's roof blev open. As you can see there is metal fence around our birdfeeder to keep our cat away from it (he likes to hunt birds and squirrels, he even got a hare once too).

Then the Christmas presents! I didn't recieve much lolita related, so I will post everything I got:

The largest gift I got was Siirtolapuutarha curtains by Marimekko. I have wanted new curtains like forever and my mom promised to buy them for me for Christmas so I picked the style I wanted and she got them for me. I love the colours and the print so much! Sorry that I get so excited about curtains, but I think I'm a little bit of a interior freak (well I'm studying Interior design, so what can you except?).

I also got a matching tablecloth for our dinner table! The print is called Puutarhurin parhaat and it's also by Marimekko. I think that Marimekko has the best prints in the whole world!

The other stuff I got:

I got Angelic Pretty hair accessory and a Marimekko ovenmitten from Heikki, Secret Shop socks (they sell them in Jyväskylä?! Go figure) and warm pink gloves from my sister, gorgeous diamond (probably fake, but I don't care) earring from my little brother, Bodyshop soap and lotion from my brothers gf (these come in handy!), mittens, Kalevala earrings (from the same set than the necklace I got last Christmas) and Steve Jobs biography (it was for both of us: me and Heikki) from my parents-in-law, a beautiful glass bowl from my godparents, pj's and free movie tickets from my mom, some money from my dad and my aunt, a super pretty necklace from my penpal Ilkimysli (Thank you so much, I will send your gift a little bit late so bare with me!) and from my friend reunion (we had a gift ring) I got a Twilight mug and chocolate (it was a joke, because everyone of us hates Twilight, but I have to admit that it was quite funny when I opened my present :DDD).

Today I hit the after Christmas sales and managed to find some lovely items. I think I will post about them tomorrow! Good night!

Double birthday party at Hyvinkää

Last weekend I travelled to Hyvinkää to celebrate Ludmilla's and Kaichi's birthday. I went there on Friday and the official tea party birthday was on Saturday. The weekend was all about friends, good food and girl talk. I had a really great time so thanks to our hostesses Kaichi and Ludmilla!

Weekly Nerd Corner: Allison Harvard

They just started showing 12th season of Americas next top model here in Finland! This season is one of favorites because it's featuring one of my favorite (ANTM) models ever: Allison Harvard! I love her unique look and huge eyes! She was also participating in ANTM All-stars season 17th, which was aired recently in USA. Cannot get enough ~

Ofelia 2011

This is my last post about Ofelia. So to refresh your minds Ofelia is a Finnish alternative fashion market and I was modeling there in a lolita fashion show. The market covers pin-up, burlesque, lolita, gothic, retro, rock 'n' roll and this events theme: steampunk. The fashion show took the most of my time, but I still managed to check out some of the other shows and the shops (of course). I was on a tight budget which was a shame, because there were a lot of cute stuff that I would have liked to have. I expecially fell in love with cute accessories by Essin Maailma, lovely lolita clothing by Cloudberry Lady and awesome looking hats by Fiona Timantti (she makes custom hats, and I think I will buy one when I get some extra money). The only thing I bought was a pair of bloomers from Cloudberry Lady, but I was seriously craving for domino cookie charm by Essin maailma :<

Day 1

I wore my new Moitie dress on Saturday. Lots of people were suprised that I wore gothic (because I'm more know for sweet), but I generally wear many different styles of lolita so I think that it wasn't so weird.

After the market closed, we went to eat with some of the other models. The place were we ate was a Japanese restaurant called Koto, and the food was delicious, service was excellent, atmosphere superb and the portions were huge! I will definately go again.

I had some udon noodles with tempura, surimi and egg. It was super good and the stock was boiling when I got it, so the food was definately hot!

They were serving drinks in buckets so we bought one to share. The buckets were so cute :3 (our had a giraffe on it)

Day 2

On day two I slept super long, so I just came directly to the fashion show. I used the same outfit that I used in the fashion show the whole day.

The second day wasn't so fun and everyone left pretty early, but I hanged at the Cloudberry Ladys booth because I had already bought tickets for the last train that left to Kuopio, so I had to kill some time. In one point me, Asio Otus, Toni and Ludmilla went to eat at the near McDonalds and we spotted a celebrity!

I'm posting like crazy but I have a lot to post so bare with me. I got a new package last Tuesday and this is what I got:

Winter coat at last! I have been needing a coat for ages and I finally found one in reasonable prize and in beautiful style that I liked. The coat is not thick enough for super cold degrees (like - 15 degrees or lower), but I think that I will manage fine because lolita clothes and layers are pretty warm. The coat is from Innocent World and the style of it is more classic but I think that it will go just fine with sweet too. I just love the ribbon details on the sleeves and the pockets!

Winter Princesses fashion show

So last weekend I participated to the Enfant Terrible's fashion show at the Ofelia Market in Helsinki. Our theme was Winter Princesses, so I just went with sweet lolita. My outfit's theme was bears (because I wore my Little bears cafe dress) so I took my favorite Rilakkuma to the stage with me (he was a real brand whore too, because he was also wearing Angelic Pretty :D).

All in all I was really happy with the fashion show and all of the models looked fab! Thanks to the organizers of the fashion show and the event! Here is some pictures taken from me on the stage:

Yey, they finally posted the video from the fashion show I did last summer! The sound is quite bad, but the picture is crystal clear and the models look stunning. You can spot me at 2:00!

I'm doing an another lolita fashion show next weekend. The show is at an alternative fashion market called Ofelia in Helsinki and our fashion shows theme is Winter Princesses. It's on both days (Saturday and Sunday) at 15:30 o'clock, so if you're at Ofelia, please come and check it out! I have already decided what I'm going to wear, but I have a major accessory crisis :<

Misako Aoki: Kawaii Revolution

I bought this book from Baby the Stars Shine Bright store when I visited Paris last summer. The book is written by Misako Aoki, who is a famous lolita model and the Kawaii ambassador of Japan. I love her cute, girly and unique style! I can't say much about the content of the book (because it's written in Japanese), but there is gorgeous outfit pics, makeup and hair tutorials, pictures from Misako's closet and room and pictures from lolitas around the world, who she has met. Here is some of my favorite pictures that I would like to share with you!

Weekly Nerd Corner: Olly Moss

I don't know if you have heard from Olly Moss, but he is my favorite graphic designer! He was born in 1987 in the UK and he does cool posters, cut-outs and more. His work is very innovative and I love how his pieces are simple but insightful and they always include a catch.

Olly Moss uses lots of pop-cultural phenomena as his subject, which makes his pieces interesting and fun. I have already posted three of his Star Wars posters to the Weekly Nerd Corner before and you an check them here. If you want to see more of Olly Moss' work, visit his website here.

Sorry only Finnish this time, but this post is about the new releases of Angelic Pretty, so you can check the pictures and comment what do you think about the new prints :D

Twinkle Carnival

Twinkle Carnival on Angelic Prettyn uusin printti, ja mielestäni ainakin mainoskuvien perusteella se on aivan ihana! Jotenkin printti tuo minulle mieleen Sugary Carnivalin sekä Puppet Circuksen, johtunee varmaan Sugaryn karusellihevosia muistuttavasta printistä ja Puppet Circuksen värimaailmasta. Kuitenkin printissä on jotakin samanlaista kuin Aqua Princessissä. Alkaakohan Angelic Prettyltä loppua ideat kesken, kun tuntuu että kaikki uudet mekot alkavat muistuttamaan aikaisemmin ilmestyneitä printtejä?

Mekkoa saa kolmessa värissä: vaaleanpunainen, valkea sekä musta ja sarjaan näyttäisi kuuluvan ainakin mätchäävä panta sekä sukat. Mainoksen perusteella Twinkle Carnivalista tulee kaksi erilaista jsk versioita sekä hame. En osaa vielä sanoa mitä mieltä olen mekkojen malleista, tuo yläosa ehkä arveluttaa aavistuksen, mutta jään odottelemaan parempia kuvia.

Decoration Dream

Kun näin tämän ensimmäisen kerran niin luulin tätä Dream dollhouseksi, niin samalta printti näyttää. Decoration Dream on mielestäni jotenkin nähty ja panta sekä bonnet ovat rumia. Kuitenkin pidän mekkojen malleista, ja jos pitäisi valita otanko tämän vai Dream dollhousen niin ottaisin tämän (keltaisena kiitos!).

Classic Melody

Ensin Angelic Prettyltä tuli numero -printti Marionette Clock, sitten kirjain -printti Moon Night Theater ja nyt tämä nuottiavaimia sisältävä Classic Melody. Angelic Pretty mitä seuraavaksi, mekko jossa on huuto- ja kysymysmerkkejä? I'm disapointed.

Mielestäni Classic Melody on tylsä printti ja nuottiavaimet on niin nähty teema. Pidän kuitenkin tuon alla olevan kuvan vaaleanpunaisen mekon leikkauksesta (jotenkin simppeli, mutta samalla naisellinen ja tyylikäs.) Saisiko tämän kenties ilman nuottiavaimia? Sarjaan kuuluu myös laukku, jonka bongasin AP:n japannkielisiltä sivuilta ja voi että AP, pudistelen päätäni.

Miksi nuo kuvat on kyljellään? Mikäs on tuo ihme nyörityshommeli tuolla yläreunassa?

Wait a minute, se yrittää olla vihko, jossa on nuottiavaimia :'D

Juu kuten aikaisemmin mainitsinkin, en pidä tästä kirjainprintistä. Itseasiassa en pidä mistään näissä mekoissa: sekä printti, värit että mallit eivät vain miellytä silmääni. Jotta en kuitenkaan lyttäisi tätä sarjaa aivan täysin, niin pakko myöntää että sen kynttelikkö kaulakorut ovat aivan ihania!

Green is mostly used in classic lolita (brands, such as Innocent World or Juliette and Justine are using this colour a lot), but it can be found in pale green shade of mint in sweet lolita (Angelic Pretty releases prints in mint from time to time). Also Moi Même Moitié has introduced this colour to gothic lolitas beside their electric blue.

I have two pieces in green in my lolita wardrobe (Rose embroidery jsk by Innocent World and Little bears cafe by Angelic Pretty), but I think I have to grow my green accessory range, because I only have green headband, mint blouse and a mint bolero.

About a week ago I circled all the flea markets in Kuopio, and this is what I found:

Shorts 1 e, shirt 1,5 e, Bag 2 e and shoes 2,10 e! I'm specially happy about the shoes, because I have been needing low heel winter shoes and these were perfect (and so cheap!). I also think that I can combine them with lolita which is always a plus :D I bought the bag for Cream de la Garderobe, because I needed a white bag for my outfit.

I also went to H&M mid-season sales and bought this dress for only 5 e (the orginal price was about 30 e)! I love the pattern and the cut of the dress. I have already used it couple of times.

And then I managed to find this lovely bolero from Enfant Terrible community sales! It's a warm black bolero by Baby the Stars Shine Bright and perfect for winter. I didn't have a basic black bolero which goes with my lolita wardrobe so this is a good addition to my closet. It's made out of velvet and you can see it worn in my most recent outfit post here.

Cream de la Garderobe raport

Last Sunday I went to Cream de la Garderobe to sell my old lolita stuff and to see my friends. The event was well put together, though the space they had decided to use (Cafe Villipuutarha) was really small and it was hard to move around. Otherwise I enjoyed the event, the atmosphere was perfect and I had fun.

I came to the cafe at 11:30 and we organised the stuff people brought there. It was so much more then I anticipated! Exspecially classic lolitas had a real treat because there were a lot of Juliette & Justine and Victorian Maiden (and the prizes were quite low too). The event started at 13:00 and then place filled up fast with lolitas. I was super hungry so me, Kaichi, Lume, Plan-t, Nefa and Ludmilla decided to go and eat some Chinese. After that we returned to the event and I did two shifts as a cashier. The event ended at 18, and I gathered my stuff quickly and rushed to the trainstation were my train left at 19:12.

There were a lot of lovely stuff at the Cream de la Garderobe, but I didn't find anything that I really had to have and besides I didn't have much money to spend anyway. Still I managed to find one item which was lovely and fit my budget! Picture follows in the end of this post!

As you can see, the place was quite packed.

Weekly Nerd Corner: We♥Katamari

This weeks topic is: We♥Katamari! It is a game published by Namco to Playstation 2. There is also a different version for Playstation 3, Xbox and Playstation portable, but I'm going to talk about the version for Playstation 2, because it's the only one I have played.

We♥Katamari tells about the King of Cosmos whose son Prince rolls these objects called katamaris. When katamari is rolled, it collects items and grows bigger and can collect even bigger items. King has a huge fan base and Prince has to roll different kind of katamaris to diffrent fans. Every fan is a different level and you can roll your katamari in different kind of environments such as a city, space or a zoo. Different levels has different tasks, like you have to collect food or certain items or grow the Katamari to a certain size in a limited time. After the katamari is finished the King of Cosmos creates a planet out of it. In the final stage you have to roll all the planets that has been created and try to roll the sun too.

I love this game because it's so cute, simple, retarded and fun. The style of the game is quite unique and childish in a fun way. The dialogue is some times just odd and the conversations with the King are hilarious. The commands are quite easy to learn and the game mode is easy but challenging. I think that the most fun part of the game is to collect Princes cousins, who can be found in different levels. After you have collected a cousin you can change it with Prince and play with a different character. I have a huge collection already, but haven't found them all yet ♥

Minä olen ollut todella kiireinen tällä viikolla, sillä meillä oli yksi suuri 3D-mallinnus deathline, ja mitä hittoa sain sen homman tehtyä (koska olen vaihtanut luokkaa, muu luokka oli opetellut aikaisemmin mallintamaan, ja kun kysyin että voisiko opettaja antaa minulle tukiopetusta, niin se vain sanoi että kusessa olet, turha tulla tunnille, joten periaatteessa olen perusteet siihen mallintamiseen opetellut vaan kokeilemalla mitä mistäkin toiminnosta tapahtuu).

Keskiviikkona lähdin koulusta etuajassa ehtiäkseni vaihtamaan vaatteet ja syödä ennen Kamyä (meillä on ollut viimeiset pari viikkoa koulua joka päivä puoli kuuteen ja keskiviikkona olisi ollut puoli seiskaan). Minulla oli todella mukavaa, pelasimme mahjongia ja juttelimme muutaman tyypin kanssa lolitasta, cossaamisesta ja kaikesta muusta sekalaisesta.

Liityin myös Animeconin järkkääjiin! Eli siis kaikille jotka eivät vielä tätä tiedä, niin tiedoksi että Animecon järjestetään ensi kesänä Kuopiossa, eli minun kotikaupungissani. En ole koskaan ollut järkkäämässä coneja (käynyt niissä liiankin usein) ja ensimmäistä kertaa asun paikkakunnalla, jossa järjestetään con, joten ajattelin että täydellinen tilaisuus päästä itsekkin tekemään jotain. Olen luvannut jo järjestää kaksi lolita aiheista ohjelmaa, mutta kysyn silti teiltä, rakkaat lukijat:

I have been super busy this week, because we had a huge 3D modeling deathline, but against all odds I made it! On Wednesday I left early (we had school until 18:30 pm and at 17:30 I just thought enough is enough and left) and went home to dress up quicly for Kamy. We played mahjong (one of the best board games ever) and I joined the organiser team of Animecon (biggest con in Finland). If you didn't know, next Animecon will be held in Kuopio next summer! Now there will be atleast two lolita programs in this event (if you have ideas for program, please suggest and I will see what I can do about it).

Halloween meetup

I hosted a Halloween meetup at my place last Saturday. We watched horror/Halloween themed movies the whole night and ate too much junkfood. Everyone had to have a Halloween themed outfit and I was a ghost bride. We were eight people including me and the others were Jousia, Ludmilla, Kaichi, Toni, Ilkimysli, CandycottoN and Shiori. Everyone else stayed over night except for CandycottoN and Shiori.

We managed to watch six movies, which were Fido, Wishing Stairs, Dark Floor, Nightmare Before Chirstmas, House of 1000 Corpses and Braindead. My favorite was Fido, it was so funny, weird and different. It tells about how people have made zombies their servants, and how a boy who doesn't have any friends becomes attached to his servant zombie.

Dark Floor was just lol because "the monsters/evil" in the movie was the members of Finnish band called Lordi (they represented us in the Eurovision song contest, and they won with heavy metal and their monster costumes), so we just laught through the whole movie and were waiting when they were going to sing Hard rock Hallelujah. Ludmilla though that one of the members was cute (in Finnish söpö) and we named him Söpö.

The most bizarre one was Braindead were a batrat (lepakkorotta) gave a zombie virus to people and it spread all over the place. This was the last movie we watched and there was everything from zombie porn (????!!!!!) to zombie babies. It was just totally bizarre.

Weekly Nerd Corner: Odin Sphere

This weeks topic is Odin Sphere! It's a 2D action rpg game for Playstation 2. I bought the game like few years ago, eventhough I didn't know much about the game beforehand (the publisher of Odin Sphere is Square Enix, which has also made Final Fantasy series so i thought it would be good). At first I was puzzled with the 2D(I was kinda waiting for same kind of stuff as Final Fantasys are known for), but after you get used with the game it's quite fun!

So Odin Sphere is a game where you can play with five different characters which each have their unique moves and battle styles. The story takes place in a world called Erion and the fates of the different characters are tied together when different nationalities start to fight from Crystallization Cauldron which can create powerful weapons called psypher crystals.

This game is so cute and addicting! The moves of the characters are quite easy to learn but you need to have a tactic to win the enemies. They also have this fun way of producing healing stuff: you plant seeds and then you can grow stuff such as apple trees or lamb trees (it's a tree which grows sheep, so cool)! The game also has a quite unique style of leveling: you have to collect different ingredients and then take them to Pooka restaurant or cafe, and then they will cook you food which boosts your level.

Lauantaina hengailin Helsingissä Barellan, Kaichin, Mämmän ja Tonin kanssa. Kävimme Tokyokanissa, Ouncessa ja Teehuoneella sekä kiertelimme kauppoja Kampissa ja Forumilla. Löysin paljon kivoja vaatteita joita olisin halunnut ostaa, mutta minulla ei ole tällä hetkellä paljoakaan rahaa, joten en voinut shoppailla mitään. Ostin kuitenkin Tokyokanista currytahnaa ja teekukkia Teehuoneelta (niitä sellaisia jotka aukeavat kun ne laittaa kuumaan veteen).

Last Saturday I met Barella, Kaichi, Mämmä and Toni in Helsinki. We visited two teashops and wandered in Kamppi and Forum shopping centres. I found a lot of clothes I would have wanted to buy, but I'm currently little short on cash, so I couldn't get any. The only stuff that I bought was Japanese curry and noodles from Tokyokan and tea from a teashop.

Weekly Nerd Corner: Lord of the Rings

I'm sorry that last weeks Weekly Nerd Corner is late, but I totally overestimated my Fridays schedule (we left to Helsinki earlier that I thought).

So this (or last) weeks theme is Lord of the Rings! When the movies came out I was a mad fan of the trilogy and I watched them like a hundred times. Lord of the Rings is one of the rare series that is as good as (or even better than) the book that it's based on and they haven't left anything important out or changed the plot drasticly (don't get me even started on Harry Potters). The quality of the movies is high through the whole series and everything is spot on from the casting to the amaizing music composed by Howard Shore. I just love love love Lord of the Rings and I could watch the series over and over again.

I don't have any favorite characters in the series (I love them all), but I exspecially enjoyed Liv Tylers performance as Arwen, Viggo Mortensens as Aragon, Dominic Monaghan as Meriadoc, Sean Bean as Borimir and Ian Mckellen as Gandalf. I have watched the movies so many times that I can't imagine the actors in other roles then the ones they played in the Lotr, so e. g. everytime I see Hugo Weaving in Matrix I think of Elrodin and so on.

Today I got my latest order from Closet Child!

I bought a scarf and a watch by Emily Temple Cute, wrist cuffs by Alice and the Pirates and a brooch by Angelic Pretty. I think my favorite item is the wrist cuffs, they are really well made and I love the lace. The scarf is so warm and soft, perfect for winter and the ribbon is detachable! The watch was a suprise, because for some reason it came with the scarf (and the prize was quite low) so I thought that it was broken or something, but it works and it's totally cute with lot of details! The brooch was a impulse buy because it was cheap, but I think it can be used with a lot of different kind of styles.

I also bought an Angelic Pretty blouse in mint. It has lots of cute details! Now I need a light blue, a lavender and a yellow blouse and then I have one in every sweet colour!

I also got a jsk by Alice and the Pirates. I have been looking for a simple jsk in cream or white so this is perfect. I love all the detail and the big droopy ribbon on the bodice. This jsk is so simple and pretty.

That's all for now, tomorrow I'm going to Helsinki and on Saturday evening we are leaving to Estonia with my family (my mom and dad had their 30th anniversairy and they wanted to celebrate by taking us all on a cruise). See ya!

Everyone knows what Star Wars is, but shortly is a scifi series by George Lucas made into movies, books, comics and any merchandise you can think of. Now they have Star Wars: The Complete Saga dvd box which includes all the movies, and I think I will buy it when the prize goes down (it's over 80 euros atm). I think the way they are advertising it in Finland is very clever (they are using Star Wars characters in car adds and Gigantti store adds). I love the movies, but I have to be a bad fan and say that I like new movies better than the old ones. Sorry. Here is some awesome graphic posters about Star Wars:

I also have this challenge by Sweeth, where I'm supposed to tell 7 facts about myself, so I will do that at the same time!

♥ 1. I don't like sweet foods (e.g. candies, ice cream and such).

♥ 2. I like beer, it's good. My favorite brand is Olvi, but I also love berry and fruit flavored beers such as Kriek (it tastes like cherry, so yummy!).

♥ 3. I like to play old strategy games, and my favorites are: Age of Empires 2, Pharaoh, Heroes of Might and Magic, Rollercoaster Tycoon and Age of Mythology.

♥ 4. I love tv-series and movies which tell about teenagers (the movie genre is high school movies) such as Empire Records, Greek, Awkward, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Skins. I also love historical (hollywood) movies such as Troy, Kingdom of Heaven, Hidalgo, The Duchess and The Last Samurai.

♥ 5. I feel really uncomfortable when I see a huge group of typical junior high schoolers (yläaste ikäisiä teinejä), eventhough they probably don't know or notice me. I think I have some kind of trauma from junior high.

♥ 6. I feel very uncomfortable when someone touches my neck, and you might even say that I have a mild fobia of being strangled. Thats why I cannot wear turtle necks or tight scarfs and cannot close the highest bottom on my blouse. I don't let people to touch my neck if I don't really have to (e.g. when I had my thyroid gland operation last fall, I had to let the doctor touch my neck, because that's were the thyroid gland is.)

♥ 7. I hate sports. I don't like the gym, jogging or any kind of sports, but sometimes in the summer I like to play volleyball with my friends.

Weekly Nerd Corner: Game of Thrones

Tästä lähtien joka viikko aloitan postaamaan uutta sarjaa, jonka nimi on Weekly Nerd Corner. Postaan kuvia ja videoita aina yhdestä sarjasta, pelistä, leffasta, kirjasta tai aiheesta, josta olen sillä hetkellä innostunut. Tarkoituksena on laajentaa tämän blogin sisältöä muuhunkin kuin lolitaan. Jos itselläsi on jotain sanottavaa viikon aiheesta, olisi mukavaa jos kommentoisitte niin voimme vaahdota aiheesta yhdessä :D

Tämän viikon aihe on Game of Thrones! Se on HBO:n sarja, joka perustuu George R.R.Martinin Tulen ja Jään laulu -kirjasarjaan, jota en ole vielä lukenut (pitänee muistaa mennä kirjastoon lainaamaan se), joten nyt vaahtoan lähinnä sarjasta. Game of Thronesia esitetään Suomessa Canal +:lla, ja me katsottiin Heikin kanssa koko sarja lähes yhdeltä istumalta. Game of Thrones on niin ihana! Tarina sijoittuu fantasiamaailmasta (eli periaatteessa keskiaika meininkiä ritareineen ja lohikäärmeineen) ja se kertoo eri perhekuntien valtakamppailusta, juonittelusta sekä ihmissuhteista. Sarjassa ei oikeastaan ole ns. pahiksia, mutta varmasti jokaisella on omat suosikkinsa. Itse rakastan Eddard Starkia (näyttelijä ah niin ihana Sean Bean, joka näyttelee mm. LoTR:ssa Boromiria), tämän perhettä, Kuningas Robert Baratheonia sekä Daenerys Targaryenia ja tämän Khal miestä (jota en aluksi voinut sietää, mutta sitten se osoittautuikin ihan mukavaksi). Vihaan palavasti Lannistereita (paitsi Imp:iä eli Tyrion Lannisteria, joka on aika lutuinen) ja Daeneryksen veljeä Viserystä. En halua spoilata, mutta minua ärsyttää kun minun suosikki hahmoja tapettiin viimeisessä jaksossa! Ja nyt pitää venata vaikka kuinka pitkään ennen kuin tulee uusi kausi ;(

This weeks topic is a HBO tv series called Game of thrones! The story is based on George R.R. Martin's book series called A Song of Ice and Fire. I haven't read the books (I will read them some day when I have time), but I love the series! The story is situated in a fantasy world (so it's medieval with knights and dragons) and it's about the noble families and their struggle to rule the throne. The story doesn't have any typical "bad guys", but everyone has their favorites and mine are Eddard Stark, his family, King Robert Baratheon, Daenerys Targaryen and her Khal husband (who at first I couldn't stand, but after a while a got fond to him). I can't stand the Lannisters (though Imp makes an exception) or Daenerys brother Viserys. I don't want to spoil, but I hate how they killed so many of my favorite characters in the last episode! And now I have to wait ages for the next season :(

Japani -kulttuurin suurkuluttajalle ominaista on se että tykätään myös aasialaisesta musiikista, mutta minä en kuulu tähän porukkaan. En voi sietää kimeä äänisiä J- tai K-pop laulajia, en samalta kuulostavia visual kei bändejä enkä muutakaan aasiasta tulevaa (anime) musiikkia. This is what I love and listen:

Käytiin Heikin ja muutaman muun tyypin kanssa pyörähtämässä R|e|n|e|g|a|d|e konemusiikki tapahtumassa Joensuussa. Pääesiintyjänä oli DJ versio Pendulumista (eli siis DJ joka soitti Pendulumin musiikkia) ja lisäksi lavalla pyöri Eliot Ness, Muffler, Rico Tubbs, Felix Zenger ja joitakin muita tyyppejä joita en ollut näkemässä. Tapahtuma alkoi kuudelta ja saavuimme paikalle jonkin verran myöhässä, joten näimme Mufflerin setistä vaan vikat 15 min (mikä oli todella harmi, koska nuo 15 min oli ehkä parasta koko illassa). Tapahtuma oli sallittu kaiken ikäisille, ja etenkin lavan edessä meininki oli kuin yläasteen limudiscossa (teki niin mieli piestä jokainen känninen teini joka törmäsi/töni minua). Ei minua alaikäiset haittaa, mutta jotain käytöstapoja olisi sekin umppalumppa armeija voinut opetella.

Mufflerin jälkeen esiintyi Rico Tubbs, joka oli myös ihan kuuntelun arvoista tavaraa ja jamittelimme suurimman osan siitä Heikin kanssa. Felix Zenger oli viihdyttävä, vaikka en beatboxaajista välitäkkään. Eliot Ness oli ihan mukiin menevää, joskin ei ehkä aivan minun makuuni. Illan pääesiintyjä Pendulum oli melkoinen pettymys. Minua ärsytti se että DJ soitti biisejä täysin tai lähes samana versiona kuin Pendulumin cd:illä. Siis jos minä haluan kuunnella Pendulumin cd:tä niin en helvetissä maksa siitä 25 euroa ja aja Joensuuhun saakka sitä kuuntelemaan kännisen teinilauman kanssa! Odotin että kappaleet olisi jotenkin miksattu uuteen uskoon, mutta ainakin minulle tutut biisit olivat lähes samassa muodossa. Lisäksi äänentoisto oli koko keikan ajan aivan kamalaa kuraa ja kulma miksauskin kusi (joskin tätä en laittanut itse merkille). Odotin ehkä eniten juuri Pendulumilta, koska se on yksi suosikki bändeistäni, mutta DJ on aina DJ, eli pitänee mennä katsomaan itse bändiä kun se seuraavan kerran Suomeen tulee vierailulle.

Lähdin paikalta kun Pendulumin settiä oli vielä puoli tuntia jäljellä ja missasin illan viimeisen esiintyjän joka oli Proteus. Loppu illan hengasin ensin vanhojen luokkakavereideni kanssa ja sitten Heikin ja sen vanhojen luokkakavereiden kanssa Club Joensuussa.

Last Saturday I visited this electronic music event called R|e|n|e|g|a|d|e which was held in Joensuu Areena. The main act was a DJ version of Pendulum. The other performers were Eliot Ness, Felix Zenger, Muffler, Rico Tubbs and Proteus. The music at the R|e|n|e|g|a|d|e was really good and I specially enjoyed Mufflers set. The most disapointing was Pendulum, because for some reason their sound system sucked and the DJ played the songs directly from the CD (I was expecting more mixing and different versions). All in all the event was succesful and I really enjoyed it.

Yesterday I got my new package from Closet Child!

So I finally got that black blouse I have been needing for ages! Too bad is not as basic as I wanted it to be, but it goes well with sweet and that's what I usually wear. The blouse is Wonder Cookie blouse by Angelic Pretty. I love the details and specially the buttoms are lovely! You might not be able to tell from the picture, but there is pink, lavender and light blue buttons and some cookie shaped ones on the collar.

I also got two pairs of socks and a necklace by Angelic Pretty. And I ordered a ribbon by Alice and the Pirates, which I thought would be a hair ribbon, but it was a ring! Well I prefer a ring over hair ribbon, so it turned out well :D

I also got a light blue Wonder Cookie hat (by Angelic Pretty) ages ago. I bought it from Enfant terrible sales and it was a bargain, because the chain thingy hanging from the side was missing. I have not liked minihats because they can sometimes look tacky, but recenlty I have noticed that some of the latest AP hats look really cute!

Pisin lauantai koskaan alkoi kun heräsin puoli seiskalta kihartamaan tukkaani. Se osoittautui ihan turhaksi teoksi, sillä kun lähdin kävelemään juna-asemalle satoi vettä ja kiharat latistuivat ihan surkeiksi. Lisäksi vedin naamalleni rautatieaseman portaissa, satutin ranteeni sekä taitoin varpaankynteni (sellaisesta kohdasta josta sen ei kuulu taittua), ja kaiken huipuksi Angelic Prettyn boleroni otti vähän damagea. Hyvin alkoi siis lauantai. Junassa tein sitten tuollaisen korvaavan hätä hime kasan, joka näytti loppujen lopuksi ihan hyvälle. Matkasin junalla Tampereelle, jonne olin sopinut tapaamisen Dashin kanssa kahdeksitoista. Pyörimme jonkin aikaa kaupungilla ja suuntasimme yhdeksi Marusekiin, jonne olin sopinut Asio Otuksen sekä Tonin (joka ei päässyt kuitenkaan paikalle koska oli auttamassa CL:n teapartyissä) kanssa syömingit.

The longest Saturday ever started at half past six, when I woke up to curl my hair. It turned out pointless, because when I walked to the Kuopio's train station it was pouring heavily and my hair got totally ruined. When I came to the stairs of the station I slipped and hurt my toe and my wrist. My Angelic Pretty bolero got also damaged. Last Saturday started so lovely. So I fixed my hair on the train and arrived to Tampere at 12:00 pm. There I met Dashi with whom I hanged in the centre for a while. At 1:00 pm we went to a Japansese restaurant called Maruseki and med Asio Otus there.

Kun olimme syöneet, Dashi lähti omille teilleen ja minä ja Asio Otus linnoittauduttiin Marusekin vessaan kihartamaan Asio Otuksen hiuksia. Tämän jälkene lähdimme vaeltamaan kohti Kahvilasalonkia, jossa illan main event Cloudberry Ladyn teapartyt olivat!

After we had eaten Dashi left and me and Asio Otus took over the Marusekis ladies toilet and curled Asio Otus' hair. After that we roamed to the Kahvilasalonki (a cafe) where the evening's main event, Cloudberry Lady's teaparty, was held!

Well at least someone had curls :D

Teepartyt alkoivat neljän maissa, ja tilaisuus alkoi teellä (duh), muffinsseilla sekä macaron leivoksilla. Erityisesti jälkimmäiset olivat aivan täydellisiä! Ohjelma alkoi baletti esityksellä, jonka jälkeen seurasi muotinäytös. Sitten oli vielä Q&A Cloudberry Ladyn suunnittelijan, Lumen, kanssa. Lopuksi oli vielä arvonta, jossa oli kasoittain palkintoja, joskin minua ei onnistanut vaikka yritinkin imeä onnea viereisestä pöydästä (jossa kaikki voittivat jotakin).

Aluksi oli aavistuksen sosiaalisesti awkward olo, koska kaikki ihmiset jotka tiesin paremmin olivat töissä/mallina teapartyissä ja minä olin superväsynyt, jolloin tykkään vaan koomata enkä tutustua kaikkiin, mutta hetken vaivaannuksen jälkeen käänsin sosialisoitumistaitoni kaakkoon ja yritin jutella kaikille, mikä kannatti! Oli mukavaa taas jälleen tutustua uusiin ihmisiin ja toivottavasti nähdään taas joskus toistekkin! Toivottavasti ette kaikki pidä minua ihan tärähtäneenä kun aina välillä innostuin paasaamaan asioista :D

No niin ja sitten keskustelkaamme illan pääasiasta, eli Cloudberry Ladyn uudesta mallistosta! Täytyy kyllä sanoa että Lume on tehnyt jälleen todella hyvää työtä ja mallistossa oli monta upeaa vaatekappaletta. Itseäni etenkin kutkuttaisi Sparkly space attack -printti, koska se on niin söpö! Rakastuin myös uuteen mallistoon (ei hajuakaan mikä sen nimi oli) ja etenkin vihreä versio on aivan upea. Pidin myös erityisesti Bubble gum alushameista, ja ajattelin että voisin hommata sellaisen heti kun budjetti antaa periksi.

So the teaparty started at 4 pm. First we had tea and cupcakes and macaroons! Then they had a ballet performance, after that there was a fashion show, and then a Q&A with the designer of the Cloudberry Lady, Lume. At the end of the event they had a raffle where you could win lots of lovely prices by Cloudberry Lady, but I wasn't so lucky :(

At first I was little bit bemused because I didn't know anyone (everyone I knew well beforehand were modeling or working), but after a while I turned my socializing skills on and talked with a lot of new people. Everyone was so nice! I had a great time!

So let's talk about the main thing, which was Cloudberry Lady's new line. There were a lot of pieces I really liked! Sparkling space attack is such a lovely and cute print and the new collection is so beautiful, specially in green. I also loved that they have added some petticoats to their collection and I think I will buy Bubble gum petti when I have enough money.

Lähdinne porukalla Tampereelta puoli kahdeksan junalla kohti Helsinkiä. Konnarilla oli joku härveli rikki, joten saimme kaikki ilmaisen reissun! Vähänkö parhautta! Päästyäni maamme pääkaupunkiin noin kymmenen aikaan illalla suuntasin kohti Kontulaa jossa menimme Tanjan luokse juhlistamaan hänen tupareitaan sekä synttäreitään. Meillä oli todella hauskaa ja pelasimme juomapeliä sekä juttelimme ja riehuimme. Muhimme Tanjalla johonkin kolmeen saakka, jonka jälkeen alkoi tuskaisin matka koskaan Rastilaan. Missattiin joku bussi, seuraava oli myöhässä, sitten piti vaihtaa itiksellä toiseen ja sekin oli myöhässä. Ulkona oli ihan saakelin kylmä, minua väsytti, kaikkialle koski (etenkin jalkoihin koska olin poukkoillut koko päivän koroilla), oli nälkä ja yleinen ärsytys päällä. Meillä meni matkaan joku 1,5 tuntia, ja saavuimme pikkuveljeni kämpille joskus puoli viisi yöllä. Voisin väittää että oli aika hemmetin pitkä lauantai.

I left to Helsinki at 19:30 pm with a huge group of lolitas going to the same direction. Trains ticket machine was broken so we got a free ride. Yay! I arrived to the capital of our country at 10 pm and then I headed to my friend Tanja's housewarming/b-day party. We left there 3 am and had the most hard time to get to my little brothers place, where I was staying. It wasn't even that far away, but it took us 1,5 hours because busses were late. I went to sleep at 4:30 am and I can tell you that I was super tired >.< This Saturday felt like the longest Saturday ever.

Sweet lolita's basics in colour theory

I have received a lot of compliments concerning my coordinations and how I match colours. I thought I would share my tips on how to combine colours in sweet lolita and how to create balanced outfits colour wise. These tips aren't rules, they are more like guidelines to help you to create a balanced outfit.

Many beginner lolitas match their dresses with all black or all white accessories and tops. This is not wrong if the dress itself has black or white in it, but normally you can see a dress matched with these "basic" colours eventhough it has nothing to do with them. I think that this is really lazy coordinating and adding some other colours makes you stand out more from the mass.

What colours to choose?

I usually plan my outfits around the dress I'm going to wear, so the colours should be from that dress. I would go with the main colour of the dress (the colour that the dress has the most) and the secondary colour (the colour the dress has the second most). In sweet lolita you can match almost everything with pink (e.g. pastel colours, white, black, brown, red) so that is a good secondary colour too. If you want to use white or black, I think that you should use it as a third colour but it can also work as a secondary colour (e.g. old school lolita). If you want to use three colours (excluding black and white) you can do so too, but if all of the colours are not found from the dress, the outfit might look unbalanced.

Avoid using colours with a high contrast (e.g. pink and navy blue or dark green). Pastels doesn't mix with dark colours and vice versa (exception: brown and red sometimes (e.g. red x pink)). This rule doesn't apply on black, because it matches with everything.

How to match?

When matching colours I divide the outfit in tree sections: head, body and legs. The head consists of hair accessories such as headbands, hats and bonnets. The body consists of a dress, a top/tops and a bag. The legs consists of socks and shoes. I usually use two colours in my outfits, and to have a well balanced outfit you should have both of those colours in every section: the head, the body and the legs.

For example:

So here we have a basic lolita outfit. The colours I used are the main colour of the dress (lavender) and pink (because the secondary colour of the dress is that weird green, and I have nothing to match with it). As you can see I used both of the colours in every section:
the head has a lavender and a pink headband, the body has lavender dress and a pink bag and a blouse and the legs have lavender socks and pink shoes. I think that this is the easiest way to create well balanced outfits.

What if I don't have enough accessories and tops to match with all of my dresses?

Ok now you might ask what to do if you don't have shoes or a bag or a headband in right colour. Then it's time to improvise! The most easiest way is to replace the missing item and to use a white or a pink (or in case of a bittersweet outfit with black) item instead. Every sweet lolita should have every piece of accessory in pink (and/or white): pink shoes, pink bag, pink blouse and pink headband. These items work as the core of your sweet wardrobe, because they can easily be matched with everything.

If you don't have shoes in every colour, a great way of circling that is to buy a lot of socks and tights. You can find affordable socks from normal clothing stores and used them with the basic pink pair of shoes. That way you can only have one pair of shoes and still have both of the colours in the leg section. E.g. I don't have light blue shoes, so everytime I do a light blue x pink outfit, I use light blue socks and pink shoes.

In the head section you can use just one colour, and it shouldn't unbalance the whole look. The easiest way to have a lot of different coloured hair accessories is to do them yourself: internet is full of tutorial on how to make headbands and ribbons. Just google it!

There is some material that go with every outfit such as straw and pearls. I have a straw hat and a pearl headband that I use when I haven't got any matching hair accessories. I also have a straw kimono bag which I use if I don't have a matching bag. These are also great items to circle the three section rule.

Matching skirts

So here you can see some circulation of the tree section rule. I used the two colours that are present in the dress: pink and mint. The body has mint in the skirt and pink in the blouse and the bag. I don't have a mint headband so instead in the head I used a pink beret. For the legs I used pink shoes and light blue socks because I don't have any mint ones (light blue is close enough) and if I had used pink socks there would have been too much pink in the leg section. I also added a mint ribbon to the blouse, a mint choker and mint bracelets to balance the upper part of the outfit (because the upper part didn't have any mint in it).

When matching skirts you should use the main colour of the skirt and the colour of the top as the main colours of your outfit. When tops are used with jsk:s they are mostly hidden, so their colour is not so important, but when used with skirts you can see the whole top so the colour should be taken into account when deciding what colours to use. Like on the example picture I'm using a pink blouse, so it's also the secondary colour of the outfit (which works out great, because it's also the secendory colour of the skirt).

Matching solids

So here is a pretty simple outfit. I used off-white and navy blue. The body has the off-white dress and the navy cardigan, the head has off-white headband and the legs have navy socks and off-white shoes. When matching solid coloured dresses you should use the colour of your top as a secondary colour. Also when matching solids you should avoid using socks and tops in the same colour as the dress.

Matching solid one pieces

Solid one pieces are tricky. With OP you cannot use blouses so the body has only one colour (though you could use a bag in different colour, but it would look a little bit lonely), so fully mixing two colours wouldn't look balanced. That's why I would suggest to use the colour of the dress as the main colour and use one another colour as a accent. Here I have used off-white with lavender accents.

The idea of accent is to add a little bit of colour to the head and the legs while keeping one colour as the main colour. This can also be used with other type of solid dresses and outfits (e.g. a shiro outfit with red accents or a gothic outfit with electric blue accents).

Matching weird colours

Lately Angelic Pretty has been releasing lots of dresses in weird colours such as electric blue, dark pink, yellow or dark blue. If you want to buy a dress in a weird colour I would advice you to get at least a matching headband or a matching pair of socks.

So here I have Little bears cafe in lime green. As you can see I have a matching headband, so it helps a lot with coordinating this dress. I always have problems with matching the legs with this dress, because I don't have lime or mint green socks or shoes. So I could use pink socks and pink shoes, but I think that you should never have shoes and socks in the same colour. So I solved this problem by looking at the colours of the dress and chose to use a third colour, brown, which is found in the print.

Matching three colours

Ok so matching three colours (not including black or white) gets a little bit tricky, but the main idea is the same, but instead of two colours you should have tree colours in every section:

So here we have an example of matching three colours. I decided to use three main colours in the dress: pink, red and light yellow. The body has the dress (which has light yellow, red and pink), a pink bag and a red bolero. The head has a red bonnet, light yellow headband and pink ribbons. The legs have light yellow x pink socks and red shoes. Using tree colours makes the outfit busy and more OTT. To pull of a great tricolour outfit you need to have a lot a matching accessories.

General rules:

- Try to avoid using socks and shoes in same colour at the same time
- You should have at least one accessory to match with your dress' main colour
- Straw and pearl accessories match with everything
- Black, white and pink goes with everything

Hairtrade vs. Rapunzel of Sweden

Samalla kun blondasin hiukseni, päätin sijoitaa uusiin lisäkkeisiin. Ostin kahdet koko pään lisäkkeet, joista toiset olivat Rapunzel of Swedenin 60 cm pitkät esikiharretut lisäkkeet (toisiksi vaaleimmat) ja toiset Hairtraden suorat 18 tuumaa (n. 55 cm) pitkät lisäkkeet (sävy: lightest blond).

I bought two sets of clip-on hair extensions, one from Rapunzel of Sweden (pre-curled, 60 cm long, second lightest blond)and the other from Hairtrade (straight, 18 inches (about 55 cm), lightest blond).

RoS:in lisäkkeet olivat iso pettymys ja minua harmittaa etten pysynyt tutussa ja turvallisessa Hairtradessa (josta aikaisemmat lisäkkeeni ovat), vaan luotin yhden seuraamani blogin positiiviseen arvosteluun. Mistä aloittaisin? No siis tosiaan päätin tilata esikiharretut lisäkkeet sillä oma tukkani on luonnonkihara ja ajattelin että minun ei tarvitsisi enää suoristaa tukkaani vaan lisäkkeet menisivät omien hiuksien kanssa hyvin yhteen. Ensimmäiseksi ongelmaksi lisäkkeiden kanssa osoittautui niiden ohuus: vaikka RoS:in sivuilla luvataan koko pään tuuhea setti, on hiusta lisäkkeissä aivan olemattoman vähän: lopputulos on luonnottoman ohut eikä missään tapauksessa tuuhea. Lisäkkeiden sävy oli kellertävä, joten minun täytyi pestä ne hopeashampoolla saadakseni luonnollisemman sävyn. Lisäkkeet suoristuivat ensimmäisessä pesussa. Siis oikeasti, kuka myy kiharia lisäkkeitä, jos ne suoristuu pestäessä?! Lisäkkeiden klipsit ovat ihan paskat, eli lisäkkeet tippuvat päästä esim. hiuksia harjatessa tai kevyesti vetämällä. Klipsejä ei ole ommeltu kunnolla kiinni, vaan osa klipseistä on jo irti alle 10 käyttökerran jälkeen! Hiustenlaatu on huonoa, vaaleiden hiusten seassa on punaisia yksittäisiä hiuksia. Hiuksia tippuu aivan älyttömästi ja lisäkkeiden latvat ovat nyt jo sähköiset ja huonossa kunnossa. Lisäkkeet ovat kalliimmat kuin esim. Hairtraden lisäkkeet ja silti huonompi laatuiset kuin HT:lla.

Johtopäätös: Älkää hyvät ihmiset ostako IKINÄ Rapunzel of Swedenin lisäkkeitä!

Hairtrade

No kun olin aikani kyrsiintynyt noihin Rapunzel of Swedenin lisäkkeisiin tilasin melko vastaavat, joskin suorat, lisäkkeet Hairtradelta. Lisäkkeissä on runsaasti hiusta verrattuna RoS:in lisäkkeisiin, ja yksi lisäke paketti riittää antamaan tuuhean lopputuloksen. Lisäkkeiden laatu on parempi ja sävy luonnollisempi kuin RoS:in lisäkkeillä. Latvat ovat ainakin tähän mennessä pysyneet siistinä ja klipsit tiukasti kiinni. Klipsit kiinnittivät lisäkkeet kunnolla omiin hiuksiin, eivätkä ne putoa harjatessa tai kevyesti vetämällä. Hiuksia tippuu lisäkkeistä jonkin verran, mutta ei yhtään niin paljoa kuin RoS:in lisäkkeistä. Hairtraden lisäkkeet olivat 30 e edullisemmat kuin RoS:in lisäkkeet.

Johtopäätös: Jos haluatte lisäkkeet, ostakaa ne Hairtradelta, minä suosittelen!

Day 1 - morning

You might remember that I threatened to do a cosplay for Tracon, and well, I did. I use to cosplay when I was back in high school, and I haven't done any new cosplays for a 2,5 years, until Tracon. My friend Maisa asked if we could do a comeback and a group cosplay (we used to do groups and pair cosplays together) and I was like sure, why the hell not. We decided to do Star Wars and I definately wanted to be Queen Amidala (albeit the outfit I made isn't worn my the Queen herself in the movie, but by her decoy Sade (acted by Keira Knightley)). So if we want to be precise, I'm cosplaying Queen Amidala's handmaid Sade. Not the queen. yey.

This cosplay gave me a meltdown of my life. The hem was so difficult to make, and the dress was super heavy so it was hard to sew. I almost didn't wear it, because it didn't turn the way I liked, but Maisa and Heikki turned my head, and I wore it anyway. I don't regret wearing the cosplay, because I met some wonderful new people and I even got filmed by a local tv (we had to say: you're watching dream tv, may the force be with you). I had a great time and I think cons are more fun when you're cosplaying then if you're wearing lolita, because people (other then lolitas) come to talk to you and do crazy stuff (like this one guy came to us and wanted to have a light saber fight with Maisa with his Iphone).

Day 2

The second day I was a model in a lolita fashion show. The theme was the decadence and the exaggerativeness which led to the down fall of the rococoo era. I decided to go as a gambler lolita, because gamling was a popular hobby among the nobility and the royalty of the rococoo era, and I think it's kinda corrupted, so it went well with the theme. I assembled my look around my new Star Night Theatre hat by Angelic Pretty. I was going for sweet, but I think that it also turned a little bit ero-ish. I also wanted the biggest hair ever, so I made this super huge Marie Antoinette style hair do.

I think that the fashion show went really well, and all of the models looked gorgeous (I even had a little bit of a inferiority complex for a moment before the event)! We had a big hall for the fashion show, and I think that all of the seats were taken. I was really nervous at first, but I think I did well and in the end of my turn I felt more relaxed. I don't know if the people who were present noticed, but during the encore my hand got stuck to my purse key chain, so I had to continue clapping even though everyone else stopped already (I didn't know what else to do with my hands, because I couldn't lower them down).

Boredom of a sweet lolita

Olen viime aikoina kyllästynyt OTT sweet lolitaan ja siihen kuinka yksipuolista se välillä osaa olla. En tietenkään väitä etteikö tyyli osaisi välillä olla vaihtelevaakin, mutta varmaan monet ovat huomanneet tietyn kaavan, johon OTT sweet on kangistunut:

♥To create a typical OTT look, you will need these:♥

1. Joku Angelic Prettyn söpö printti mekko, mielellään myös mätchäävät sukat sekä panta. Huom! Suositumpi on aina parempi, hanki siis Sugary Carnival, Melty, Chess Chocolate tai Milky planet.
2. Mintymix peruukin, mielellään mekkoon mätchäävän ja kaksivärisen. Poninhäntä lisäkkeet käy myös.
3. Angelic Prettyn keksin/tähden/sydämen/lampaan/bambin/you name it muotoisen laukun, jonka väri skaalan tulee tietty sopia mekkoosi.
4. Ison kasan hiushärpäkkeitä, koruja ja sormuksia Chocomintilta. Lisää hyvällä maulla. Pari paria AP:n wrist cuffeja ja sellainen tähti brooch kuuluu tietty myös tyyliin.
5. Secret shopin tea party replicat tai jos mekon hankinnan jälkeen jäi vielä tuohta, hommaa aidot.

I don't love OTT sweet lolita as much as I used to. I think that it has got stuck to a certain pattern and it's getting boring. I don't mean that every OTT sweet lolita is dull, no by all means, BUT you can notice a certain pattern:

♥To create a typical OTT look, you will need these:♥

1. I cute print dress by Angelic Pretty. A matching headband and socks are a plus. More famous the print, the better!
2. Mintymix wig or clip-on ponytails!
3. Angelic Pretty's star/cookie/candy/heart/lamb/bambi/you name it -shaped bag to match your dress.
4. A huge pile of hair accessories, jewelry and rings by Chocomint. Also a pair or two of wrist cuffs and a star brooch is a must.
5. Secret shop's tea party replicas or if you have some more money to spend, buy the real deal from Angelic Pretty.

Jotenkin OTT on alkanut tuntua yksitoikkoiselta viime aikoina, joten ajattelin ruveta suosimaan vähemmän överiä sweettiä. Kaipaan yksinkertaisuutta, maanläheisempiä värejä ja asukokonaisuuksia, jotka eivät ole päältä päin niin överi söpöjä, vaan sisältävät enemminkin nättejä yksityiskohtia, joita ei välttämättä huomaa ensi silmäyksellä. Otan myös tavoitteekseni yrittää korporoida lolitan tavalliseen tyyliini, sillä myönnän etten ole kehdannut koskaan pukeutua kunnon lolita asuun koulua varten. Lisäksi kaipaan kunnon naisellisia korkokenkiä, sillä tea partyt näyttävät 21-vuotiaan jaloissa aavistuksen lapsellisilta.

Tämän hetkinen suurin inspiraationi lähde on ollut Misako Aokin Kawaii Revolution -kirja, jossa Misakon asut ovat aivan upeita! Olen jo hänen kirjansa tähden rakastunut kahteen mekkoon, jotka minun on aivan pakko saada omakseni! Kunhan löydän jostain skannerin, jaan suosikki asuni kansanne!

Tämä ei nyt tarkoita sitä että myisin kaikki printti mekkoni ja polttaisin päärusettini roviolla, ei suinkaan! En kykene muuttamaan vaatekaappini sisältöä yhdessä yössä, ja kaikki mekkoni ovat niin rakkaita, etten halua luopua niistä, ja pystyyhän printtejäkin yhdistelemään "casuaalimmin", riippuu vain mihin ne yhdistää.

Johtopäätös: saatan vielä välillä pukeutua OTT -tyylisesti, mutta poninhäntä lisäkkeille sekä Chocomintin asusteille sanon kyllä hyvästit.

I think that OTT is getting boring, and I'm going to favor less over the top sweet lolita from now on. I miss simplicity, toned down colours and outfits that doesn't stand out so much. Atm I'm graving for solid colour dresses, which have their main focus on details not so much on the print. I'm also going to try to corporate my normal style with lolita. I have to admit that I have never worn a whole head-to-toe lolita outfit to school. I also miss femine high heels, I'm already 21-years old and I think that tea party shoes are starting to look quite childish on me.

My biggest inspiration atm is Misako Aoki's book: Kawaii Revolution! She has such a lovely style, and I have already fallen in love with two of her dresses. I will scan you my favorite pictures after I find a decent scanner.

Conclusion: I'm not going to leave OTT for good, because I can't change my whole wardrobe over night and I love my print dresses too much to sell them, BUT I will definately say goodbye to clip-on ponytails and Chocomint accessories.

Drink me's fashion tips for the upcoming season

The weather is getting colder and colder every day and summer will be gone soon. Now is the time to add some warm pieces of clothing to your lolita wardrobe! Here are some tips about what I think is "hot" this autumn/winter in lolita fashion.

♥Colours♥

It's time to say bye bye to pastel colours and invest in basic tricolours: red, blue and ivory or white. You can mix and match these colours as much as you like, they will always look good together! Also dark brown is hot this winter and it looks super cute combined with light pink as proven by Angelic Pretty's Melty Chocolate or Chocolate chess prints.

♥Materials♥

Go for velvet, wool and other warm materials. Velvet is perfect for winter! It looks elegant, rich and it keeps you warm. Albeit this fabric is lovely, keep in mind that too much velvet can look cheap and tacky: wear one velvet piece and combine it with other materials, such as cotton and wool.

♥Outerwear♥

This season it's all about short jackets! Go with a cute bussiness style jacket or a cool bikers jacket. Remember to go for a jacket with cute details, such as ponpons, ribbons and buttons.

♥Shoes♥

Shoes I would choose for this season are short boots! They keep your legs warm and dry, but at the same time they give you the opportunity to show of your legs. Also cute high heel loafers are the way to go if the weather is dry. When the weather gets colder, a warm and comfy choice is ugg boots, with cute colour and ribbon detail on the side.

Pair your high heel loafers with cute lace trim ankle socks and your boots with longer socks that go over the knee. Also warm pair of tights with aperture details would look great with any pair of shoes.

♥Knits, blouses and cutsews♥

Remember to keep the sleeves long to cover your arms!

♥Bags♥

Forget the candy and animal shaped bags, and go for a more vintage look. Look for a basic rectangled bag which has a used feel to it. Keep the colour simple: go for the shades of browns, whites and toned down reds, blues and greens. A great places to find the ultimate bag for this season is your grannys closet or the flea market.

♥Jewelry♥

Also plastic jewelry is a no no this winter. Hoard yourself jewelry with pearl, rose and ribbon details. Go for the more classic and toned down look. Use delicate shades such as powder pink, ivory or light mint green.

♥Headgear♥

For this season beret is a must. Berets are super cute and they can turn a bad hair day into a good one. Get a wide collection of berets in every colour from a non-brand clothing store. That way you have one to match with every outfit!

If you get fed up with berets, try a more subtle headband or a pair of ribbon combs. OTT sweet lolita is not the only style when you can frost your head with multiple small ribbons!

♥Point of fashion: Umbrellas♥

Autumn is a rainy season so don't forget your umbrella! Get a one with cute frills or polka dots and stand out from the mass of boring black umbrellas.

♥Point of fashion: Scarfs and fur collars♥

A great way to keep yourself warm is a scarf. You can go for a more traditional one with a cute patterns such as hearts or ribbons or you can go crazy and get a rolled flat bunny or a bear from Angelic Pretty or Baby, the Stars Shine Bright.

Fur collar is also a cute way to keep yourself warm. Buy a collar in pink or brown, and you can match it with almost any outfit.

♥Point of fashion: Fur trim♥

Fur is such a nice material and it can make anything cute! Get boots or gloves with fur trim. Also a jacket with a fur collar is a good option. I don't use real fur (because I don't approve with fur industry and the cruelty against animals), but nowadays you can find lots of products with great looking fake fur.

♥Point of fashion: Fluffy ponpons♥

Fluffy ponpons are the cutest thing ever! You can use them to deco your jewelry, bags, phone, socks or anything! If you look closely to the pictures I have listed above, there is many items with ponpon details.

Aloitetaan Pariisin ostoksilla! Minulla oli hakusessa pari mekkoa, mutta koska en löytänyt niistä ensimmäistäkään päätin sijoittaa asusteisiin, joita ei voi kenelläkään lolitalla olla liikaa.

Let's start with stuff I got from Paris! I was looking for a couple of dresses, but they didn't have the ones I wanted, so instead I decided to blow my budget on accessories.

Mintun värinen bolero Angelic Prettyltä, joka oli kallein hankintani. Oikeastaan etsiskelin vaaleansinistä, mutta eipä ollut. Tämä on kuitenkin todella söpö ja tykkään siitä paljon.

A mint bolero by Angelic Pretty. I was lookin for a light blue one, but couldn't find any. Although it's not the colour I wanted, it's still super cute!

Angelic Prettyn sateenvarjo sekä Babyn vaaleanpunainen laukku. Minulla ei ole aikaisemmin ollut varjoa, joka kävisi myös päivänvarjosta, joten sellainen oli myös hakusessa. Tässä kävi niin että olisin halunnut pinkin, mutta kun ei ollut, päätin tyytyä valkoiseen pinkeillä pilkuilla. Olen pitkään miettinyt hankkivani sateenvarjon netistä, mutta niiden postitusmaksut ovat turhan korkeita ja olen nähnyt liian monta horror kuvaa postituksessa katkenneista päivänvarjoista, joten ajattelin ostaa yhden Pariisista. Olen aikasemminkin ostanut pitkän sateenvarjon Tokiosta, ja ajattelin että kun silloin sain viedä sen käsimatkatavaroissa, niin tottakai saan viedä nytkin. No en saanutkaan (koska kärjessä oli (tylppä) metallipiikki) ja minun piti antaa varjoni ruumaan. Olin aivan varma ettei se löydä perille tai tulee kotiin vähintään kolmessa palassa, mutta mitäs hittoa sieltä hihnalta se lopulta rullasi esiin ja vielä täysin ehjänä!

Laukku sen sijaan oli aavistuksen heräteostos, sillä tarkoituksena oli alunperin etsiä vaaleansinistä laukkua, joita ei tietenkään ollut tarjolla. No kun olin kerran jo vieraillut Babyn ja Angelic Prettyn liikkeissä, minua jäi mietittymään yksi musta bolero, jonka olin bongannut Babyltä. Kun menin käymään liikkeessä uudestaan, sinne oli ilmestynyt näitä ihania laukkuja, ja bolero unohtui samantien hyllyyn. Laukku on todella tilava ja mietin että voisin ruveta käyttämään sitä koulussa. Lisäksi olen kaipaillut "asiallista" pinkkiä laukkua, koska minulla ei ole ollut kuin se Angelic prettyn keksi laukku, joka ei sovi oikein muun kuin sweet lolitan kanssa. Tämä laukku on yksi suosikki hankinnoistani, enkä kadu ollenkaan sen ostoa!

An umbrella by Angelic Pretty and a bag by Baby, the stars shine bright. I have been looking for a umbrella for a long time now, and I wanted to have a pink one, but they didn't have any so I settled with the white with pink polka dots. It's so cute!

I was really looking for a light blue bag, but they didn't have any. The second time I visited the Baby store, I was really looking for a black bolero, but when I saw these bags, by heart was sold! It's very spacious and I love the design of it. This is definately one of my favorite purchases!

Nilkkusukat Babyltä. Kun näin nämä sukat Ayanen blogissa, tuli heti sellainen pakko-saada-tuollaiset-heti-nyt -fiilis! En osannut päättää vaaleanpunaisen ja -sinisen välillä, joten ostin molemmat. Rakastan sukkien läpinäkyvyyttä sekä wrist cuff tyylistä reunusta, ja ajattelinkin että jos sukat hajoavat, noista saa tehtyä oivat rannekkeet.

Ankle socks from Baby. When I saw these socks for the first time in Ayanes blog, I felt like had to get these asap! I couldn't decide between pink and light blue, so I bought both. I love the sheer material with polka dots and the trim which reminds me of wrist cuffs.

Kaikki rahani hupenivat lolitaan, mutta ostin paluumatkalle vielä vähän lukemista. Misa Aokin kirjan nappasin Babyn liikkeestä, koska se ei maksanut kuin vaivaset 15 euroa. Uusin Lula sekä grafiikkaa esittelevän lehden löysin Palais du Tokyon matkamuisto myymälästä (todella laaja taidealan sekä muodin kirjojen ja lehtien valikoima, löytyi jopa opus japanilaisesta katumuodista, suosittelen). Tuossa kuvassa on muuten ainoa tavallinen asuste ostokseni, 6 euron aurinkolasit Châteletin metrotunnelista.

I spend all of my money on lolita, but I still managed to buy something to read. I bought Misa Aokis book from Baby store (only 15 euros!). I also got the latest issue of Lula and a magazine which covers some of new graphic designers from Palais du Tokyo. I also bought those sunglasses, they were only 6 euros from the Châtelet subway station.

Yksi Pariisin matkani motiiveista oli päästä ostamaan lolita vaatteita irl ja suuntasinkin jo ensimmäisenä matkapäivänäni alueelle jossa sijaitsevat Babyn sekä Angelic Prettyn liikkeet. Pariisissa liikkuminen on helpointa metroilla, ja lähin asema yllämainituista lolita liikkeistä on Ledru-Rollinin asema joka jää Babyn ja AP:n liikkeiden välimaastoon. Ledru-Rollinille pääsee metrokarttoihin ja opasteisiin yleisesti laventelilla merkattua metro linjaa (nro. 8), joka kulkee Balardin ja Créteilin väliä.

One of the things I wanted to do in Paris the most was to go and shop at the Baby, the stars shine bright and Angelic Pretty stores. On the first day of my visit I went to the area where these shops are located. The easiest way to travel in Paris is to use the subway and the station nearest to the stores mentioned above is Ledru-Rollin. To reach Ledru-Rollin you have to use line 8 (it's normally marked to the metro maps/signs with lavender), which travels between Balard and Créteil.

Angelic Pretty

Angelic Prettyllä ei oikeastaan ole omaa liikettä Pariisissa, vaan sen showroom toimii Boddywood nimisen japanilaisia alternative vaatteita myyvän liikkeen yhteydessä. Ensimmäisellä kerralla kun vierailin liikkeessä vuosi sitten Boddywoodin tiloissa oli esillä pari Angelic Prettyn vaatetta, mutta tällä kertaa ei ollut mitään näytillä näyteikkunan mallinukkea lukuun ottamatta. Jos haluat nähdä Angelic Prettyn valikoimat, sinun tulee kysyä myyjältä josko pääsisit showroomiin, jolloin tämä sulkee liikkeen ja vie sinut sieltä ulos. Täältä matka jatkuu liikkeen vieressä olevan oven kautta rakennuksen sisäpihalle, josta noustaan rappuset yläkertaan, josta taasen paljastuu Angelic Prettyn showroom. Myyjä jää ovelle vahtimaan (lue: tuijottamaan ja kyttäämään jokaista liikettäsi) samalla kun sinä saat rauhassa kierrellä hyvin pientä (joskin söpöä) huonetta ja penkoa tavaroita (varautukaa siis elämänne ahdistavimpaan shoppailu kokemukseen). Itse kiertelin kaikessa rauhassa ja katsoin koko valikoiman läpi, jonka jälkeen valitsin tuotteet jotka haluaisin ostaa ja annoin ne myyjälle. Liikkeessä on kulma sovituskoppi ja vaatteita saa kokeilla päälle, joskin koppi on kulma ahdas ja aavistuksen hämärä (kiitos informaatiosta Katalle!). Tykkään ostaa vaatteet mieluummin livenä kuin netin kautta, sillä tavarat eivät aina näytä aivan samalta valokuvissa kuin oikeassa elämässä (ja niitä saa hipeltää!). Kun olet kierrellyt liikettä mielestäsi tarpeeksi, kerro myyjälle olevasi valmis, ja tämän jälkeen palataan takaisin Boddywoodin liikkeeseen, jossa ostokset maksetaan ja pakataan. Myyjä yksittäispakkaa kaikki tuotteet huolellisesti ja sain mukaan jopa ilmaisen (lahjus) postikortin. Maksaminen onnistuu sekä käteisellä että pankkikortilla (itselläni on visa electron, ja sillä pystyi ainakin maksamaan). Palvelu oli kohteliasta ja hyvää.

Angelic Pretty Parisin hinnat herättävät aina lolitoissa keskustelua, sillä ne ovat reippaasti korkeammat kuin jos tilaisi tuotteet suoraan Japanista. En ole koskaan jaksanut itse vaivata päätäni hintavertailulla, mutta ainakaan AP Parisista ostettaessa ei tule tullimaksuja joten koen säästäväni ainakin siinä suhteessa.

AP Parisin aukioloajoista minulla ei ole hajuakaan: välillä liike on kiinni lounasaikaan, välillä se aukeaa aikaisemmin ja välillä taas ei.

Angelic Pretty Parisin valikoima on hyvin pieni. Tarjolla oli vain yksi hame sekä noin kuusi mekkoa, joiden printit olivat uusia vähemmän suosittuja printtejä vähemmän suosituissa väreissä (tällä hetkellä tarjonnassa oli Sheep Garden, Toy Fantasy, Honey Cake sekä Marchen Ribbon). Lisäksi tarjolla oli jonkun verran blouseja, pari boleroa, kapea valikoima asusteita sekä kenkiä. Odotin että liikkeessä olisi ollut laajempi valikoima basic lolita vaatteita, kuten sukkia, pantoja, laukkuja sekä paitoja, mutta sieltä ei oikein tuntunut löytyvän mitään haluamaani (joskin epäilen että liike on imetty tyhjiin brändin teekutsujen yhteydessä). Jos haluat tietää mitä liikkeessä on tarjolla ennen matkaasi, suosittelen selaamaan Angelic Pretty Parisin blogia, josta näkyy aika hyvin mitä liikkeestä voi odottaa löytyvän. Suurin osa tuotteista lienee yksittäis kappaleita (kävin liikkeessä kahdesti ja ostamani tavarat eivät olleet ilmestyneet sinne uudelleen), joten jos näät jotain josta pidät, kannattaa lunastaa se omaksi saman tien. Minä palasin hakemaan yksiä sukkia jotka olivat jääneet kaihertamaan pari päivää aikaisemmin, ja kadonneet olivat mokomat. Angelic Pretty restockkaa aika usein, joten jos olet pidemmällä visiitillä, saattaa valikoimaan ilmestyä loppu reissusta uusia tuotteita.

Baby, the Stars Shine Bright

Babyn liikessä on paljon yksinkertaisempaa asioida ja sillä on laajempi valikoima. Epäilen että suurin osa tavaroista edusti vanhempia mallistoja (joskin bongasin sen uuden yksisarvisprintin), mutta valikoima oli laaja. Babyllä on tarjolla paljon erilaisia mekkoja sekä hameita, Alice and the Piratesin tuotteita (kodona vaatteita sekä mekkoja), sukkia, päähärpäkkeitä, kenkiä, laukkuja, blouseja sekä boleroita. Liikkeessä riitti paljon selattavaa ja katseltavaa, ja paljon sinne jäi sellaisia perusvaatteita joita olisin kaivannut lolita vaatekaappini täydennykseksi (damn kun olin huono säästäjä ennen reissua D:)

Palvelu Babyn liikkeessä oli kohteliasta (myyjä oli japanilainen mies) ja olo oli kuin olisi ollut ostoksilla Pariisin sijaan Tokiossa. Kävin liikkeessä kahdesti ja molemmilla kerroilla sain Babyn postikortin sekä toisella kertaa myös (lahjus) suklaata. Ostokset pakattiin huolella vaaleanpunaiseen silkkipaperiin. Maksu onnistui sekä käteisellä että luottokortilla. Hinnat olivat mielestäni kohtuullisemmat kuin Angelic Pretty Parisilla, ja osan tuotteista hintoja oli alennettu. Minulla on kasoittain päivitettävää, sillä en ole ehtinyt koneelle kunnolla pariin viikkoon. Syy siihen, miksi en ole päivittänyt aikohin on se että viime viikonloppu ja sitä edeltävät pari päivää kului Ninnin häissä ja niiden kanssa säätämisessä töiden lisäksi ja tämän viikon olen lomaillut Pariisissa. Aloitetaanpas siis vanhimmasta asiasta, eli siitä että värjäsin/vaalensin hiukset joskus viime viikon keskiviikkona.

I have lots of stuff to update because I have been super busy with Ninni's wedding and with the trip to Paris! I will start with the oldest stuff which is my new hair colour:

Jotenkin en koskaan oikein sopeutunu siihen brunettiin joten päätin palata vaaleampaan tukkaan. Tarkoituksena oli mennä hoitamaan vaalennus kampaajalle, mutta en saanut aikaa lyhyellä varoitusajalla (halusin hiukset kuntoon ennen Pariisiin lähtöä ja lisäkkeet saapuivat postiin vasta viime tipassa), joten homma hoitui yhdellä vaalentavalla hiusvärillä, yhdellä hiusvärillä sekä viidellä hopea shampoo pesulla. Pohdin vielä että pitäisikö käydä ostamassa vaalennusvoidetta ja laittaa sitä vielä omiin latvoihin, jotta niiden sävy olisi lähempänä juurikasvua (josta tuli ihan valkea). No katsellaan...

Viime viikolla oli Ninnin sekä Mikon häät. Perjantaina kokoonnuimme kaveriporukalla Iisalmen maistraattiin todistamaan näiden kahden avioitumista ja jatkoimme sieltä juhlistamaan nuorta paria Iisalmen Dragon Shengin noutopöytään. Lauantaina pariskunnalla oli perinteikkäämpi vastaanotto, jonne tuli paikalle myös kaikki sukulaiset ja muut tuttavat. Nämä kaikki kuvat ovat perjantailta, sillä ne ehkä sopivat blogiini enemmän sen takia että minulla ja Ninnillä oli lolitat päällä.

Last week we celebrated Ninni's and Mikko's wedding! On Friday we went to the local register office to legalize their marriage. On Saturday they had a more traditional reception for their family and friends. These pictures are all from Friday.

Lolita cruise 2011

Lume on järjestämässä risteilymiittiä kaikille lolitan harrastajille viikolla 33. Aikomuksena olisi alustavasti varata risteily, joka lähtee Helsingistä tiistai iltana 16.8. klo 17:30 ja palaa Suomeen torstai aamuna klo 10:00, jolloin keskiviikko päivä vietetään Tukholmassa. Muita vaihtoehtoisia matkustuspäiviä ovat maanantaina lähtevä risteily (paluu keskiviikko aamuna) ja jos tämäkään ei onnistu niin keskiviikkona lähtevä risteily (paluu perjantai aamuna).

Risteilyn hinnaksi on arvioitu 7 e. Ruotsinlaivojen ikäraja on 21-vuotta, joten sitä nuoremmat eivät valitettavasti pääse mukaan.

Ostin Ninnin häitä varten uuden mekon. Se on tarkoituksella aika arkinen, koska ajattelin että sijoitan rahaa mieluummin mekkoon jota voin käyttää muutenkin kuin sukujuhlissa.

I bought a new dress for the Ninni's wedding. It's quite plain, but I tought that I would rather spend money on a dress I can wear daily than to a one I could only wear in family happening (like weddings, confirmations and such).

Tuo kuosi on aika vinkeä, koska kauempaa se näyttää vaan joltakin risuaidalta, mutta lähempää katsottuna ne onkin luurankoja! Tykkään.

That pattern is quite fun, because from a far distance it looks like a somekind of zigzag pattern, but from the close distance you can notice that there is skeletons. I love it!

Ninni's pirate bachelorette party

Rakkahin Ninni on menossa naimisiin ja tehtävänäni kaasona oli järjestää hänelle yllätyspolttarit. Päätin että teemaksi tulee merirosvot, koska se on hauska teema, eikä meillä ole aikaisemmin ollut piraatti aiheisia bileitä.

Kävimme yllättämässä Ninnin Iisalmessa kahden aikoihin viime lauantaina, teimme hänelle merirosvo makeoverin ja lähdimme eeppiselle questille jonka tarkoituksena oli tuhota pervo Merilevä sekä löytää merirosvojen aarre. Tämän jälkeen seurasi syöntiä, kaikenlaista ohjelmaa sekä saunomista. Illalla suuntasimme lopuksi Kuopion yöelämään. En ole ikinä aikaisemmin ollut edes polttareissa, saatika sunnitellut sellaisia, mutta minulla oli ainakin todella hauskaa, ja Ninnikin tuntui tykkäävän, joten nämä juhlat olivat success!

My dear friend Ninni is getting married and as a maid of honor my duty was to organize a suprise bachelorette party. I decided to go with a pirate theme, because it's a fun theme and we haven't had pirate theme parties before.

About 14 pm we went to suprise Ninni and gave her a pirate makeover. After that we had a treasure hunt and after we found the treasure, we headed my place for food, drinks, more program and sauna. In the evening we went clubing to Kuopio. I had a great time and Ninni seemed to enjoy her bachelorette party too so I think this weekend was a success!

Minusta ei ole kunnon asu kuvaa, mutta yrittäkää bongailla noista ryhmäkuvista. En oikeastaan tavoitellut lolitaa, vaan ylipäätään merirosvo lookkia. Päälläni on Babyn mekko, Alice and the piratesin kengät, Seppälän kauluspaita, H&M:n huivi sekä vyö joka löytyi kirpparilta.

I don't have a decent outfit picture, sorry. I wasn't really trying to do a lolita outfit, instead I was going for a more pirate-y look, forgeting some of the lolita element completely. I'm wearing a jsk by Baby, Alice and the Pirates shoes, blouse from Seppälä, scarf from H&M and a secondhand belt.

Lolipiknik vol. 3

Kokoonnumme joka kesä vanhojen lolilaisten (Lapinlahti otakut liitto = lol) kanssa perinteikkäälle piknikille Valion rantaan Lapinlahdelle. Ohjelmaan kuului syömistä, jutustelua sekä Samulin pieksemistä Pokemon tcg:ssä.

Every summer we meet with old high school friends and have a picnic at the beach of Valio in Lapinlahti. The program included eating, catching up and beating Samuli in Pokemon tcg.

Asuni on aika super tylsä, mutta minulla oli aamulla heikko happi eikä oikein riittänyt inspiraatio asun kokoamiseen, hiusten laittoon tai meikkaamiseen.

My outfit is kinda bad, but I wasn't feeling well at the morning so I didn't have the energy to do my hair, make up or choose a more creative outfit.

Muuta:

- Päätin lähteä opiskelemaan huonekalumuotoilua sekä sisustusarkkitehtuuria Kuopion muotoiluakatemiaan, koulu alkaa syksyllä!
- Saimme Heikin kanssa kämpän, joka on aika täydellinen, koska:
a) Se on ihan keskustassa (pari korttelia Dragon shengistä)
b) Ihana uusittu keittiö
c) Sauna!!!!!
d) Iso terassi
e) Nätin väriset seinät
f) Mahdollisesti vielä isompi vaatekomero kuin meidän edellisessä kämpässä!
- Pariisin matka lähestyy!

Other stuff:

- I decided that I will start to study furniture and interior design in Kuopio's design academy, school starts next autumn!
- We found a perfect apartment near the centre of Kuopio, it even has it's own sauna!
- Just three more weeks before Paris!

Nekocon 2011

Tämä viikonloppu kului Nekoconin merkeissä Kuopiossa. Sää oli helteinen ja molempina päivinä oli niin kuuma että meinasin sulaa. Lämpöä oli varmaan yli 35 astetta! Hauskaa oli silti, joskin sunnuntaina oli aavistuksen väsynyt meininki, koska menimme nukkumaan la iltana joskus kolmen aikaan. Lauantain hengailin Tanjan, Heikin ja Tiinan kanssa, kun taas sunnuntaina Jousia liittyi seuraamme. Pyörin myös todella paljon Terriblen Plan-t:n ja Lumen kanssa, kiitos hyvästä coni seurasta!

Eniten koko conilta odotin Pokemon korttiturnausta, mutta kappas kummaa, olin ainoa ennakkoilmoittautunut ja ainoa joka saapui paikalle ajoissa (jopa ohjelman järjestäjä saapui paikalle puoli tuntia myöhässä). Conin pääjärjestäjä kävi ihmettelemässä ettei paikalle ollut tullut ketään, ja sitten homma päättyi niin että pelasimme kahdestaan ja joitakin ohikulkijoita tuli seuraamaan huimaa ottelua. Ottelumme oli niin galakseja räjäyttävä, että saimme median huomion osaksemme, ja kuva minusta pelaamassa päätyi tämän päivän Savon Sanomien sivulle 12 (ilmeeni on herkän herpderp peura ajovaloissa). Lehtimies epäili että olenko alle 15-vuotias (ne ei kuvaa lehteen alle 15-vuotiaita ilman vanhempien suostumusta), ja tämä oli ehkä hienoin alakanttiin vedetty ikäarvaus ever (siis meikähän on 170 cm pitkä ja ikää on jo kertynyt 21). Samalla kun paistattelin lehdistön salamavaloissa, turnauksen järjestäjä ja pari aloittelijaa saapui paikalle, ja sitten pelailimme casuaalisti ja opetin samalla sääntöjä. Loppujen lopuksi emme edes pelanneet koko turnausta, joskin jäin kaipaamaan sitä boosteria, jonka pääjärjestäjä lupasi minulle siitä kunniasta että saavuin paikalle (nyt on aivan pakko ruveta käymään Kamyssä ahdistelemassa sitä niin kauan että saan boosterini prkl!).

This weekend I went to Nekocon, and the weather was super hot! I enjoyed the convention even though it wasn't very big. The program I waited the most, was Pokemon tcg tournament, but it was cancelled, due to the lack of participants. We still played some casual matches and the photographer of Savo's news took my picture (it was in todays newspaper, here is the same picture, I found it from the internet):

Osallistuin tällä kertaa aika moneen ohjelmaan, sillä iso sali ja auditoriot olivat ainoita ilmastoituja huoneita koko rakennuksessa. Kävin tsekkaamassa kokonaisuudessaan Cosplay -kisan, FFfightiin, päättäjäisiin sekä Pokemon ds pelien hc pelaamisesta kertovan paneelin. Kävin myös pyörähtämässä Kovat koiraat, kuinka feilata cosplayssä sekä yaoi -luennoilla ja cosplay deitissä, mutta nämä ohjelmat osoittautuivat (minulle) niin tylsiksiksi, etten jaksanut jäädä seuraamaan niitä pidemmäksi aikaa. Sanoisin että Nekocon oli ihan kelpo con, ehkä olisin odottanut 14 euron hintaan nähden jotain enemmän.

Sunnuntaina päätimme twinnata taas Jousian kanssa, ja sain häneltä lainaksi Dreamy doll housen mustana. Asuni oli aika pikaisesti aamulla kasaan koottu, ja kokeilin uutta afro kampausta. En tiedä pidänkö hiuksistani, ja etenkin kuvissa kuotaloni ei näytä kovinkaan siistiltä. Sukat eivät myöskään mielestäni käy, mutta minun piti vaihtaa kengät viime hetkellä, koska sain ekalta päivältä rakot, ja ne mitkä meinasin laittaa, olivat tappo rakon tuottaja -kengät (meinasin laittaa mustat kengät ja vaaleansiniset sukat, mutta piti vaihtaakkin mustiin sukkiin ja pinkkeihin kenkiin).

On Sunday me and Jousia decided to twin again, and she let me to use her Dreamy doll house in black. I didn't plan my outfit beforehand (I just pulled something matching in the morning) and I tried a new kind of afro hairstyle. I don't know if I like my hair or not, and in the pictures it look kinda messy.

Lupasin tehdä lolita videon Nekoconista, mutta siellä ei ollut lolitoja paljoa nimeksikään (näin vain neljä muuta itseni lisäksi), joten päätin jättää videon tällä kertaa välistä!

Kuten video postauksessa jo mainitsinkin, hullaannuin taas vaihteeksi Terriblen sisäisten tarjonnasta, enkä voinut vastustaa yhtä suosikki printeistäni, joka oli vieläpä tarjolla juuri sen värisenä kun halusin eli vaaleankeltaisena! Olen himoinnut Powder rose hametta viime vuoden keväästä lähtien kun näin se Angelic Prettyn Pariisin liikkeen näyteikkunassa, mutta silloin mekko jäi kauppaan johtuen 40 euron tulijaisbudjetistani. Olen pitkään miettinyt haluaisinko mielummin hameen vai mekon, mutta jotenkin en tykkää mekon miehustasta joten hame oli ykkösvaihtoehto. Ja kun se ne nyt kerran oli myynnissä ja vieläpä aika hyvään hintaan niin pakkohan se oli saada.

As I said in my vlog, I found one of my favorite prints from Terribles sales, and I couldn't resist. I have wanted Powder rose since I saw it in the window of Angelic Pretty Paris a year ago, but then I didn't have enough money. You can imagine how excited I was when I found it and it was in my favorite colour (light yellow), favorite model (skirt) and even the price was reasonable!

Hameen kangas on ihanan kevyttä ja sopii kesään täydellisesti. Vyötäröllä oleva rusetti on irrotettava ja sen verran muhkea, että sitä voi käyttää vaikkapa hiuksissa. Printti ei ole aivan niin ylimakea kuin Angelic Prettyn muut printit joten yhdistelemällä hametta eri asusteisiin sen saa muunneltua moneen tyyliin. Vähänkö täydellistä muuten että Cherry berry bunnyäni varten hankkimani asusteet (laukku, sukat, panta) sopivat myös tämän hameen kanssa täydellisesti yhteen.

The fabric of the skirt is really light and perfect for the summer. The waist ribbon is removable and quite big, so you can use it as a hair accessory too. The print is not as sweet as other Angelic Pretty prints so it's more variable. I think it's also perfect because all the accessories I bought for my Cherry berry bunny dress can also match with this skirt.

Olen myös koko kuluneen kesän haaveillut lolita sopivasta topista, ja pakko oli tämäkin ostaa, koska lähti niin hyvään hintaan. Kyseessä siis Angelic Prettyn vaaleanpunainen toppi, täydellinen kesään ja sopii hyvin yhteen minun muun vaatekaappini kanssa!

I have been dreaming about a lolita suitable top the whole summer and I had to buy this because it was such a bargain. It's a pink top by Angelic Pretty, perfect for the summer and it also matches with the rest of my wardrobe!

It's so cute!

Pistin taas pitkästä aikaa päälle klassisempaa asukokonaisuutta. Kengät eivät aivan sovi kokonaisuuteen, mutta ulkona oli kosteaa joten en halunnut laittaa korkkareita. Hiukset yritin jättää mahdollisimman luonnollisen näköisiksi joskin ne näyttää kuvissa ja videolla ehkä aavistuksen lättäniltä (siis tulkaa tänne kattomaan, ne on aivan täydelliset :DD).

I wore a more classic outfit this time. The shoes don't match 100 % but it was wet outside, so I didn't want to wear heels. I wanted my hair to look natural, but it looks quite flat.
